Exercising for fun has never really been part of my life but I'm getting a better appreciation of the benefits of exercising.
However it has always been easier for me to walk a couple of km if it means getting to or from work or meeting friends in the city.
I also found it easier than i thought to start cycling to work when i was working in places that weren't served well by public transport. It has also given me a new appreciation for surviving the roads in Sydney which is helping me become a better driver.
My current goal at the moment is to either walk or ride to work each day. Walking takes me about 45min, cycling about 20min. The weather of late hasn't been ideal for either, in the last week it has swung from 40c temps to constant rain. Those days when it just isnt going to happen i do a 20-50min yoga session at home.
I have an aunt who is a yoga teacher who put me onto great CD's from www.yogajournal.com With a variety of sessions from 20 to 50 min and easy to understand cards even Mr Blue-eyes has had a few goes at downward-facing-dog. I like to think of yoga as a kind of massage session that you do to yourself, you get all the same benefits.
